WeGeneration Initiative team joined the celebration of #IDDRR2025 at SM Mall of Asia

With this year’s theme, “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters,” we were reminded of the urgent need to invest in preparedness, community capacity, and long-term resilience before calamities strike. The event brought together an inspiring mix of youth leaders, government agencies, NGOs, and innovators each one contributing to the shared vision of a safer, more resilient Philippines.

Throughout the day, we explored interactive booths, listened to thought‑provoking discussions, and took part in activities that showcased practical and innovative approaches to disaster risk reduction. One of the highlights for our team was witnessing how young people are stepping up as key drivers of DRR, bringing fresh ideas, commitment, and passion for community-centered solutions.

The experience reaffirmed what we’ve always believed: resilience is built, not wished for and it starts with giving communities the support, tools, and funding they genuinely need.
